During construction or maintenance activities in healthcare facilities, life safety systems may be impacted or taken offline for an extended amount of time. These systems can include but are not limited to exit signs, fire protection systems, horn/strobe devices, smoke/heat detectors, fire/smoke walls and doors, and egress pathways. Therefore, Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) must be developed and put in place to address the deficiencies created by the work activity.
Not only can we assist in establishing your ILSM, but we can manage the entire program for you. By allowing us to integrate with your in-house Facilities team, we can assess life safety risks, determine hazards, and implement preventative measures - from the pre-planning stages through project completion. In addition, we can evaluate the existing knowledge of your team, assess training needs, and develop appropriate training.
We can conduct life safety audits throughout the project to ensure continued compliance with regulations, safety policies, and safety performance expectations. Our audits will include not only the identification of deficiencies but also practical corrective solutions. With that data, we can provide comprehensive trending reports based on site-specific observations. Managing “ground up” initiatives such as safety committees, toolbox talks, and other programs based on feedback from the “boots on the ground” personnel.
