Safety Specialist – 1926 Construction

Overview:

This position is for a Safety Specialist with 1-9 years of experience in the Construction safety field.  This individual will be responsible for managing a comprehensive safety program for multiple clients as well as perform on site audits and educate workers on federal standards.  Requirements include self-management, time management and people skills. Applicant must be detail oriented, and have a high level of organization.

Your client base may not all be within the St. Louis Metro area, so a willingness to travel for all-day, 1 to 2 day, or possible long-term out of town assignments is a must.

Responsibilities:

The Safety Specialist must show professional courtesy, expertise, and organization while maintaining their responsibilities outlined for this position.

Duties and Tasks:

  • Administer the safety program set forth in the client’s contract
  • Support the client to achieve safety goals outlined
  • Inspect workplace environment
  • Correct any safety infractions on the job site
  • Manage any workplace safety incidences
  • Maintain daily reporting system
  • Attend safety meetings

Qualifications: 

  • EHS Degree with > 3 years OR 1-9 years of experience in the safety field
  • OSHA 500 Outreach trainer
  • Certification of a 10- and 30-hour OSHA card
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills, including grammar, spelling, email, and telephone correspondence
  • Demonstrate good analytical decision-making while maintaining cooperative working relationship at all levels
  • Maintain flexibility and perform all duties with an independent manner

Safety Specialist – 1910 General Industry

Overview:

This position is for a Safety Technician with 1-9 years of experience in the General Industry safety field.  This individual will be responsible for managing a comprehensive safety program for multiple clients as well as perform on site audits and educate workers on federal standards.  Requirements include self-management, time management and people skills. Applicant must be detail oriented, and have a high level of organization.

Your client base may not all be within the St. Louis Metro area, so a willingness to travel for all-day and/or 1 to 2 day out of town assignments is a must.

Responsibilities:

The Safety Specialist must show professional courtesy, expertise and organization while maintaining their responsibilities outlined for this position.

  • Perform hazard assessments
  • Develop 1910 programs including, but not limited to: LOTO, Machine Guarding, Hazard Communication, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, Material Handling, etc.
  • Support the client to achieve safety goals outlined
  • Inspect workplace environment
  • Correct any safety infractions on the job site
  • Manage any workplace safety incidences
  • Maintain daily reporting system
  • Attend safety meetings

Qualifications:

  • EHS Degree with > 3 years OR 1-9 years of experience in the safety field
  • OSHA 501 Outreach trainer preferred
  • Certification of a 10- and 30-hour OSHA card
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
